Former Uganda’s prime Minister pleas to give Late Iddia Amin a decent burial at home
Idi Amin Dada fled the landlocked country in 1978 when Tanzanian army under Julius Nyerere invaded the Banana Republic ending Amin’s 8 year rule of tyranny.
Amin sought political asylum in Saudi Arabia where he was also buried in 2003 when he died. President Yuweri Museveni rejected pleas to have the brutal dictator buried in Uganda.
Well according to Uganda’s former Prime Minister Amama Mbabzi, if elected president in the forth coming general elections, He is planning to bring back Amin’s remains back home for a decent burial and also build a museum in his honor in a bid to help Ugandans reconcile over the late Amin’s legacy.
However not many are supporting his plea since most citizens would not wish to recall the memories during his era since he did more harm than good to the Ugandan citizens whereas those who are supporting the idea are claiming that it will be a good plot to attract tourists in the country.
